Hi everyone :-)
I was born Porto, Portugal, yes, the land of Port Wine ;) and of course Douro table wine!
I could upload my gorgeous photos of this magnificent city, but let's face it, google it, you will find thousands of them, so, here is the place I lived in for past 30 years, a little village, south of the Rio Douro, part of the city Vila Nova de Gaia.

It's called Praia da Aguda = Beach of Aguda (pointless to directly translate Aguda, but if you are curious google it :p ) it used to be a small fishing village - and there are still fishermen going out to sea fishing sustainably in their traditional boats - but it has evolved beautifully.

I am privileged to live there and I don't take it for granted (now more than ever) I love how we have all we need in walking distance - coffee shop, butcher, grocery shop, magazine stand, baker, restaurants, gymnasium and of course, along the 15km of beach, more bars and more restaurants).

We also have a fire brigade https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Fire-Station/Bombeiros-Volunt%C3%A1rios-da-Aguda-489077884593474/

and we are home for an aquarium https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Nonprofit-Organization/Esta%C3%A7%C3%A3o-Litoral-da-Aguda-219119701500171/

I hope you enjoy these.
Let me know what you think!
If you ever have a chance to visit Portugal, do!! You will not be disappointed north to south, sea to spanish border :-) AND Azores and Madeira islands :-) Aguda_1.jpg view from the pier.jpg Tipical tyle covered house.jpg

I do planning on visiting a good place for vacations with my family. But i don't know any good places in Portugal and about foods, especially wine:p
If you can suggest me before we depart to Portugal and some things to take care of?
