One of the most traditional portuguese recipes ever is called Bacalhau à Brás!! Really easy and quick to make!
We are very proud of our hundreds of cod fish recipes, in fact, we say we can cook it in 1001 ways (not too far from the truth!)
Ingredients (4-5 people):
Boiled Cod fish -300 gr
Thin french fries (if you don't want the smell of fries in the house buy a pack of potato chips in a stick)- 200 gr
Onions (chopped them or slice them whatever you like best) - 2
Chopped garlic - 1 tbsp
Bay leaves - 2
Black Olives- 3-5/person (but who's counting

Eggs (1/person)- 5
Salt (and black pepper if you must!)
Olive Oil
chopped of roughly cut Parsley
I hope this isn't cheating, but I thought it would be easier to post a youtube link to show the process. He is a portuguese Chef and he speaks in portuguese in the beginning, but there are subtitles and the "instructions" are in english. The quantities shown in the vid are for 1. Oh by the way, this dish is served in the north of the country too

If there are any portuguese people reading this, I'm sure they will have slightly different ways of chopping or adding things, which is the beauty of it!!

I hope you give it a try and I hope you like it!!
Do let me know and why not show a pic or 2 of what you come up with!!
Bom apetite!!
